Mr Navin Verghese is an extremely able and competent surgeon. I can not fault any aspect of my treatment from start to finish. He spoke to me as an individual rather than just another patient, using language I could understand. He explained in great detail what he could and could not do, and he ultimately did exactly what he said he would. I am forever indebted to him for giving me my life back and I can't thank him enough. Big thanks also to Mr Verhese's staff and the people who looked after me so well during my stay at the hospital. Pat Phillips.

Mr Verghese was very professional which gave me confidence in him, he was also friendly and warm in his manner and I felt able to ask him questions. I had a very positive experience overall and found the whole Team very caring and professional. I was very nervous prior to the surgery but was less so once I had met with Mr Verghese and the rest of the Team. The only negative experience I had was the arrival of the Practice nurse from my GP surgery who was upset that I had no "aftercare care plan" from the ward and was abrupt and not all that gentle when taking out the staples.

Consultant explain the procedure, and was always willing to answer any question's that were asked. Surgery went very well. After care was also of the highest of quality. I have nothing but good comments, and was extremely happy with the outcome after the surgery, as this has improved my standard of life greatly.

11 weeks post surgery for L4/5 discectomy and decompression, and I am very happy with the outcome of the surgery. Mr Verghese explained fully the pros and cons of the surgery. He also advised that although the pain would subside I might experience numbness in the lower leg and foot after the surgery. This has been the case for me, although not particularly troublesome as I'm getting used to it and able to get around quite well. I'm pleased that he mentioned about the numbness pre surgery or otherwise I might have had concerns about it. That what's been so good, Mr Verghese took time to explain things fully and asked if I had any questions about any of the options that were available for my particular problem. The pain that I had endured for 7 months was excruiating. I tried all the conventional treatments of prescribed tablets, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Amitriptyline, Co-Codamol and Paracetamol, also Physio for about 15 sessions and all the stretching exercises, nothing helped. Surgery was the last resort, and it was succesful for me. So thank you Mr verghese, for allowing me to get my life back.
